On the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Genocide against Roma and Sinti, the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., the Centre for Jewish Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the Maribor Synagogue and GT22, cordially invites you to the commemorative event The Night the Violins Went Silent.
The event will take place on Tuesday, 2 August 2022, in GT22 (entrance from Židovska Street) at 11:00. The event will be addressed by the Vice-Mayor of the Municipality of Maribor, Alenka Iskra.
This will be followed by a screening of the documentary The Forgotten Genocide: Europe’s Gypsies in World War II, directed by Juliette Jourdan and Idit Bloch, written by Henriette Asséo, Idit Bloch and Juliette Jourdan, produced by KUIV and Mémoire Magnétique, FRA, 2011.
