Štefan Simončič, President of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., will present a webinar on the story of the Roma oral tradition.
The ROMASOUL project is an international initiative aimed at preserving and promoting the rich culture of the Roma community through an innovative fusion of music and culinary traditions. Funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe Programme (CREA-CULT-2024-COOP), the project brings together partners from Serbia, Greece and Slovenia and highlights the importance of cross-border cooperation in preserving cultural diversity.
It promotes intercultural dialogue, brings together artists, researchers and Roma communities, and opens up new opportunities for creative expression and economic development. The digital album and recipe archive not only preserve the rich oral traditions of the Roma, but also bring them to a wider audience. In addition to its cultural significance, the project contributes to reducing the environmental footprint, as all activities focus on digital distribution and sustainable use of resources.
This innovative project demonstrates how culture can become a bridge between different communities and promote understanding, respect and inclusion of diversity.
