On the occasion of World Energy Efficiency Day, we invite you to join us for an event dedicated to young people, youth workers and everyone interested in how more thoughtful energy use can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Energy is part of our everyday lives – we use it for heating, cooking, lighting, computers, phones, transport and many other activities. Yet we often become aware of its importance only when it becomes expensive, when there is not enough of it, or when we start thinking about the environmental impact of energy production.
The event is being prepared together with young people, who will explore how individuals, households, organisations and local communities can reduce energy consumption. Young people will participate in preparing the content, developing practical examples and carrying out the discussion, while EPEKA youth workers will act as facilitators, guiding them, encouraging participation and helping them connect their ideas with real environmental challenges.
Special attention will be given to simple measures for reducing energy consumption: switching off devices, efficient heating use, proper ventilation, energy-efficient lighting, reducing unnecessary consumption and understanding energy labels. We will also discuss how energy efficiency, social justice and quality of life are interconnected.
As part of the event, we will also refer to EPEKA’s activities in the field of housing and environmental topics, including a reflection on the opportunities offered to households and communities by the Eco Fund, energy renovations, better insulation, efficient appliances and renewable energy sources.
At the end of the event, young people will prepare short proposals for more responsible energy use in youth spaces, schools, homes and the local community. The purpose of the event is not only to inform, but also to encourage young people to become active co-creators of change.
🎯 Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited – register as soon as possible!
