In December, the European Commission presented its first-ever EU-wide Affordable Housing Plan, marking a significant milestone in addressing the housing crisis affecting many EU citizens.
While this step is warmly welcomed within the Greens/EFA group, experts and NGOs warn that it is only the beginning. More ambition and concrete on-the-ground measures are needed for real systemic change.
The EPEKA Association is actively involved in discussions on the future of living, as housing issues directly affect social inclusion, youth mobility, and the quality of life for all generations. We invite you to join us for an action webinar where we will explore in detail the opportunities brought by the new plan, while highlighting the challenges that remain unaddressed.
Main aims of the meeting:

  • Analysis of the opportunities and shortcomings of the new European plan.
  • Discussion on fair rents and ensuring safe, healthy homes.
  • Connecting for a Europe where no one is left homeless.
  • Promotion of housing as a public good, designed for people, not profit.

The webinar will be held in English. This is an excellent opportunity for NGO representatives, decision-makers, and the general public to join forces for a fairer housing policy, which also includes heating and renewable energy supply. You will receive the link to the Teams meeting during the week of the event.
