Online debate
The President of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., Štefan Simončič, and members of the partnership of the project Farm – Space of Diversity took part in an online debate entitled “Agriculture in crisis – how to move forward?”, organised by the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).
The theme of the event coincides with the three-year project Farm – a place of diversity, which we are implementing in partnership with Kovačnik Farm, Drankovec Farm, EPEKA Cooperative and Uranjek Organic Farm – Pri baronu. The project is funded by the European Fund for Rural Development under sub-measure 16.9.
Description of the event
The new coronavirus pandemic is affecting all spheres of life and most sectors of the economy, and agriculture is also being tested. Disruption of some sales channels, difficulties in paying contributions and credit, price fluctuations and shortage of seasonal workers are just some of the challenges facing Slovenian agriculture.
What is and will be the aid in times of coronary crisis, what changes to the rural agenda are on the horizon and how to increase self-sufficiency will be the topics of the discussion in which they will take part:
- Dr Aleksandra Pivec, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food,
- Branko Ravnik, Director of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia, and
- Mitja Vodnjov, Director of the Agricultural Forestry Cooperative Škofja Loka.
