Štefan Simončič, President of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., will participate in the Annual Consultation on Adult Education 2018. The Consultation will take place at the same time as the EPCEA Annual Conference on 23 and 24 October 2018 in Maribor.

The Annual Consultation on Adult Education (LPoIO) is a national event that brings together activities and results in policy, research and practice in adult education, while highlighting the challenges common to our field of work. The Andragogical Centre of Slovenia (ACS) will organise the eighth edition of the LPoIO on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport (MESS). This year it will take place at the Habakuk Congress Centre in Maribor on 23 and 24 October. The two-day programme promises a lot of interesting topics.

On the second day, representatives from the OECD and the MoESL will discuss new developments in the field of skills and progress in implementing the National Skills Strategy and its Action Plan. Brief reports will be given on the developments and outcomes of the three ESDP consultation events. Special attention will be paid to the topic highlighted by the European Council Recommendation on Pathways to Adult Skills – New Opportunities for Adults as one of the key support activities – outreach. A summary overview will be given of the actions that currently and in the future constitute the implementation of national and European actions for the benefit of the population, in particular individuals with low levels of education and inadequate skills.
