Kino Udarnik
TOSCA BEAT are coming to Maribor! Welcome to a world where opera singing and classical music fuse with urban rhythms and electronic music.
As part of the Ezl ek Festival, we invite you to the historic Udarnik Cinema, where we will continue the opera night in an iconic setting. For the first time, the unique TOSCA BEAT will perform in the oldest cinema hall in the city. A mini spectacle is in the making, as the performance will be enlivened by visualisations on the big screen of Kino Udarnik, by VJ Stella. DJ JAMirko will close the evening.
Tosca Beat is a Slovenian music group that combines modern, urban music and electronica with classical music and opera. The core of the group consists of academic opera singers Zala Hodnik, Urška Kastelic and Eva Pavli, accompanied by violinist Luka Beljan, cellist Žan Beljan and pianist Kristina Golob. Their first song “Open Sea”, for which they also recorded their first music video, was released in May 2015. They work with producers Peter Penk and JAMirko, the latter also acts as a DJ conductor.
TOSCA BEAT, who presented themselves to the wider public at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest – EMA, present their first studio album, which with its diversity shows the breadth of the placement of opera singing in the environment of contemporary popular and club electronic music.
