Farm Pri Kovačniku
You are invited to join us for the closing conference on Saturday 5 November 2022, at the Farm Pri Kovačniku.
The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., in partnership with Farm pri Kovačniku, Farm Trankovec, EPEKA Cooperative and the organic farm Uranjek – Pri baronu, has completed the three-year period of the project Farm – a place of diversity.
The greatest success of the project was undoubtedly the 54 training sessions held on farms, where people, mostly trainees from vulnerable social groups, were introduced to the work and life on a farm, and the farmers themselves were made aware of the realities and problems affecting people with fewer opportunities. All participants in the activities carried out under the project acquired a wide range of new skills and acquired key competences for entering the labour market and, ultimately, the ability to become food self-sufficient. As the activities were aimed at exploring potential solutions and testing their transfer into practice, agricultural holdings outside the partnership will also benefit indirectly.
The results of the project will also be presented in more detail at the closing conference. We will focus in particular on the training sessions for members of the farms that we have organised during the first twelve months of the project. We will present the topics covered during the training sessions and their relevance for the functioning of the agricultural holdings, which are also involved in projects aimed at the integration of vulnerable groups – non-formal education, management of heterogeneous groups, competences related to the introduction of participants to agricultural tasks, etc. Another key point of the conference will be the presentation of the activities carried out and the lessons learned during the implementation, as well as the possibilities of translating the solutions discussed during the project into practice. Key presentations will be made by the farming households, who will present the benefits they have derived from the project and the relevance of regular implementation of the activities for vulnerable groups. In the final part of the conference we will also look at the main findings of the evaluation report.
The final press conference of the project will take place on Saturday, 5 November at 5 pm at Kovačnik, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the project’s objectives and results.
