The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner organisation in the Caring for Health and the Environment project, which is run in cooperation with the Ljubljana Faculty of Management and Law.

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner in the programme, within the project Strand B – Environmental Care – a factor of sustainable development and social responsibility of organisations. The project was selected under the call for proposals “Project work for practical experience and skills of students in the working environment 2022/2023”, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation with the financial support of the European Social Fund.

The project pays particular attention to issues related to the cleanliness of the workplace and the wider environment, which is, among other things, an important generator of the psychosocial health of employees as well as the wider local community. The non-governmental sector or civil society is the most affected in terms of psychosocial health in times of social change, whether economic crisis or epidemic outbreak. Social entrepreneurship is an area where the partner organisation (EPEKA) provides social cohesion to both the local and national environment. By involving people who are different but equal, we contribute to the satisfaction of both the individual and society as a whole, where success is key, but not through financial value but through other parameters such as inclusion, solidarity, equality and pdb. This is particularly evident in the area of the circular economy or the re-use of products. Where there is little or no profit, there is added value in protecting the environment, in having a green workplace and in feeling that something is being done for posterity.

The objectives of the project Block B are: analysis of the current state of care for the (working) environment in the partner organisation, design and implementation of promotional activities at the employer’s headquarters to involve the participants in the planned activities of the operation, preparation of awareness raising and training programmes for employees on effective practices for a cleaner working and local environment and reduction of the carbon footprint, implementation/implementation of training and education programmes for employees on effective practices for maintaining a cleaner working and broader local environment.
