Epeka at Citywide Approaches to Housing First: Taking Housing First Across a City and Its Systems
26 March 2026,
Online Event (Webinar)
Members of the EPEKA Association will participate in an international webinar in March titled “Citywide Approaches to Housing First: Taking Housing First Across a City and Its Systems,” organized by the Housing First Europe Hub. The event is crucial for all those striving for systemic changes in addressing homelessness, as it focuses on the transition from individual pilot projects to a comprehensive citywide model involving all relevant local actors and public systems. This approach is based on the belief that housing is not just a final goal, but a fundamental human right and a starting point for successful social inclusion.
During the webinar, experts from various European cities will share their experiences on how to integrate the “Housing First” strategy into broader city policies. They will discuss overcoming institutional barriers, collaboration between housing funds, social services, and the health sector, as well as ensuring sustainable funding for such programs.
The main highlights of the meeting will include:
- Connecting Systems: How to align the operations of different city departments for the common goal of reducing homelessness.
- Scaling the Model: Strategies for expanding successful practices to the level of the entire city.
- Stakeholder Engagement: The role of NGOs and local communities in implementing field support.
Participation in such training sessions is of great importance for EPEKA, as it allows us to transfer good practices to the local environment and strengthen advocacy activities for vulnerable groups in Slovenia.
More information about the content and the program of the webinar can be found on the official Housing First Europe Hub website.
