Online Event

Members of the EPEKA Association will participate in an international online expert meeting titled “European Affordable Housing Plan – Responses across research, policy and practice” on Tuesday, 14 April. Hosted by IFHP, ENHR, and EHPN, the event focuses on examining solutions to the housing crisis in Europe and bridging the gap between research, policy, and practical applications in this field.

The program includes a keynote presentation by Matthew Baldwin from the European Commission, who will highlight housing issues as a systemic precondition for achieving EU ambitions. Special attention will be given to the challenges of the financialization of the housing market, which acts as a structural obstacle to housing affordability, and how a European housing agenda can contribute to more just and competitive cities.

During two panel discussions, experts from across Europe will share lessons on modern housing models, spatial planning, and citizen engagement in decision-making processes. The debate will also address how to balance housing demand with investments in digital and other infrastructure at local and regional levels. For EPEKA, such topics are crucial, as we advocate for social inclusion and the improvement of living conditions for youth and vulnerable groups.

More information about the program and participating organizations can be found on the official IFHP website.
