Ljubljana

Representatives of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., Matej Tisaj and Mateo Hočuršćak attended a presentation of the European Youth Strategies 2019-2027 which took part on the 22nd June on-line.

The aim of the event is to present the structure and content of the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027 to actors in the youth field, to place youth work in Slovenia in a European context and to explore what activities the youth sector is already contributing to achieving the objectives of the Strategy, and in which areas they could further strengthen their contribution and better reflect the objectives in their work.

They will also look at how the implementation of the Strategy is embedded in national policies. We are at the beginning of the implementation of the Strategy, so this presentation is also a stimulus to familiarise and build on it in the strategic planning of the activities of organisations in the youth sector.

All actors in the youth sector, from youth workers, youth centre managers, decision-makers at local and national level, as well as interested young people, are invited to attend the presentation of the European Union Youth Strategy.

The event will present the strategy and its overall objectives, guiding principles and the three core areas identified for the youth sector: engaging, connecting and empowering. Special emphasis will also be given to the youth objectives, which are embedded in the Strategy as a result of the EU Youth Dialogue. The 11 youth objectives included in the Strategy will be presented in tables hosted by representatives of organisations from the objective areas.

#1 CONNECTING THE EU WITH YOUNG PEOPLE
#2 EQUALITY FOR ALL GENDERS
#3 INCLUSIVE SOCIETIES
#4 INFORMATION AND CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE
#5 MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
#6 A STEP FORWARD FOR RURAL YOUTH
#7 QUALITY EMPLOYMENT FOR ALL
#8 QUALITY LEARNING
#9 SPACE AND PARTICIPATION FOR ALL

The afternoon will explore how the strategy fits into the youth sector, possible youth dialogue projects and, in the final part, a round table to explore how the strategy is being implemented at national level and how it will fit into Slovenia’s Presidency of the EU Council.
