Gorišnica
It’s time to work outdoors! The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is organising a work camp within the Fair Employment project – Youth work to employment for young people with fewer opportunities
For one summer weekend, we will move away from the urban environment and go to the municipality of Gorišnica, where we will get a breath of fresh air and a closer look at agricultural activities. As part of the work camp, we will also learn how to harvest Ptujski lük; an indigenous variety of red onion, protected by a geographical indication, produced in an integrated way. It has been cultivated in the Ptuj field for more than 300 years.
A work camp linked to agriculture can give young people new work experience, introduce them to the different options available to them in the field of agricultural employment, give them a sense of care for the environment and the space, and give them the opportunity to get to know farm work more closely.
The youth programme of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport – Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth.
