Representatives of the Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, will attend the fifth international social housing festival.
The International Social Housing Festival (ISHF) is an initiative of Housing Europe, the European Federation of Public, Cooperative and Social Housing, and its members and allies, which are present in 31 countries and represent 25 million homes, representing 11% of the housing stock in the European Union.
- The first ISHF took place in Amsterdam in 2017, where around 1,300 people gathered over two days for a total of 45 events.
- The second edition was organised in Lyon in 2019, where around 1,500 participants gathered at 70 events over four days.
- The third edition, planned for 2021, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally took place in June 2022 in Helsinki, where around 1,000 people participated in 80 different activities over three days.
- The fourth edition took place in 2023 in Barcelona, where a new record was set with more than 2,100 participants from all over the world.
The ISHF is a unique opportunity for discussion between providers of social and affordable housing, policymakers, researchers, city authorities, urban planners, architects and activists.
On 4 June at 11:15 a.m., the president of the Association EPEKA, Štefan Simončič, together with Mr Jose Ospina, will present the topic – Does Slovenia really have no private housing cooperatives?
