On 20 June 2019, we kindly invite you to the Roma Station, where a concert by Damir Mazrek will take place as part of the Youth Against Antigypsyism conference.

Damir Mazrek is a percussionist who creates unique rhythmic fusions of different musical traditions. His percussion collection includes – calebasse, dunun, cajon, darabuka, djembe, congass, tapan, various ring drums, Nigerian udu drums and other types of clay percussion. He has also studied and continues to study traditional and contemporary styles of his instrumentarium.

He has studied with renowned masters in various percussion and music workshops at home and abroad, and has also attended various music camps and individual explorations that have taken him to China, India, Morocco, Spain, France, Holland, Guinea, Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, … where he has met masters and teachers such as; pt. Suresh Talwalkar, Thomas Guei, Mbady Kouyate, Hakim Ludin, Carlo Rizo, Jathinder Thakur, Dragan Dautovski, Bajsa Arifovska, Milaim Destanovski, Gyan Siing, Maxwell Wright, Thomas Guei, Kachito, Antonio Reyes, Oskar Porina, Cherim Haliti, Kevin Jones, …

The concert is part of the Voice of Roma series, supported by the Municipality of Maribor.
