The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU, which sought to strengthen social Europe for a just, green, and digital recovery, organized a high-level conference on the role of the social economy in job creation and the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights.

It took place on Monday, March 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as a digital event broadcasted live from the Queluz National Palace in Sintra.

The purpose of the conference was to present the network of Portuguese cities that will be the European Capitals of the Social Economy in 2021, and to continue discussions on the co-creation of a European Social Economy Action Plan.
