The third concert of this year’s cycle Classic today? tomorrow? is a concert of Lara Hrastnik on Saturday, 13 November 2021 at 7 p.m. in the Sodni stolp.

Lara Hrastnik (1996) started playing the harp at the Music School in Celje, where she also graduated in 2015. In 2018, she completed the first level of undergraduate studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the auspices of Professor Mojca Zlobko Vajgl. In November 2020, she completed her master’s degree at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Professor Stephen Fitzpatrick. In June 2021, he completed his master’s degree at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana with Professor Mojca Zlobko Vajgl.

He regularly participates in competitions and achieves excellent results. In 2018, she received the first prize at the national Temsig competition and special awards for the hundred points achieved, for the best performance of a compulsory composition and for the best performance of a composition by a Slovenian author. In 2019, he won the 2nd prize with a harp duo at the chamber music competition “4th Harfe-Kammermusik Wettbewerb” (Austria). In January 2017, she performed Handel’s Harp Concerto in B flat major, Op. 4/6, for which she received the Prešeren Award of the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana. In April 2019, she performed Glier’s Harp Concerto in E flat major with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lara regularly performs solo, plays with chamber ensembles and in orchestras. She was further educated by many well-known professors, such as: Irina Zingg, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Anneleen Lenaerts, Petra van der Heide, Gwyneth Wentink and others.
