Štefan Simončič, President of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., will participate in the expert conference “Youth and Employment – 21st Century Skills”, organised by AmCham Slovenia, on Wednesday, 4 March 2015 at the Austria Trend Hotel Ljubljana.
Slovenia has 23% youth unemployment.
CAUSE: Is the problem a lack of jobs or inadequate skills and competences of young people?
CHALLENGE:
- Which occupational profiles are most at risk?
- Which skills are most in demand?
- Which are the 21st century skills?
- Is our education system ready?
- What measures should we take?
- Are additional skills crucial for youth employment?
- How can we reform the education system to help create successful young people?
- How can we better promote education for the professions most needed by the market?
- What do businesses need?
The panel will work together to find solutions/answers:
- Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport,
- the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities,
- the Jožef Stefan Institute,
- CMEPIUS,
- the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana,
- the Employment Agency of the Republic of Slovenia,
- the AmCham Labour Law Commission,
- representatives of young people who are unemployed,
- young people who have found a job immediately after finishing their education,
- representatives of HR departments of major Slovenian and foreign companies,
- young people who are about to finish their education,
- and of course, all those who will come to the consultation.
