Štefan Simončič, President of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., participated in a panel discussion on the No to Hate Speech movement on the occasion of the launch of the Zmoremo! manual, organised by the Slovenian Office for Youth at the Old Town Power Plant.

URSM organised a consultation on hate speech among young people and ways to prevent it on the occasion of the publication of the We Can! handbook (original publisher: Council of Europe).

The aim of the consultation was to present the book We Can! to provide educators, youth workers and the general public with ways of tackling the prejudices that give rise to hate speech. We also talked about how to offer concrete examples of help in dealing with hate speech and how to find alternatives in tolerant communication. The aim of the consultation was to teach young people the importance of a tolerant democratic culture in order to ensure a more welcoming digital space, while maintaining their critical and active citizenship.
