Hungary and Slovenia

Participants of the Feel the rythm! V4+Roma also travelled to Slovenia after the first part of the training, which took place in Hungary. They visited the first Roma restaurant in the EU to operate a social enterprise, Romani kafenava, to see a good practice example.

The purpose of the cross-country training was to present good practices and interesting and inspiring examples of education and youth work within the Roma community and the Erasmus+ programme.

The Erasmus+ Youth Sector is the main tool at European Union level to support young people, providing non-formal learning opportunities for young people through mobility and intercultural dialogue. The Erasmus+ Programme has developed an Inclusion and Diversity Strategy, which provides access to young people with fewer opportunities. Young people from Roma communities often suffer from multiple discrimination and lack of opportunities.

The aim of the training programme is to offer Roma youth organisations the opportunity to learn about and exchange good and interesting practices from other countries in order to become more involved in the Erasmus+ programme.

Besides all this, this training was also a great opportunity to deepen the cooperation between 4 countries that share the same history and social reality.
