Representatives of the Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, will participate in the One-Stop Shops: Green Heating and Energy Renovation Pioneers webinar. One-Stop Shops are changing the European path to green heating and energy renovation!
Decarbonising heating and cooling is one of the main climate challenges for Europe, accounting for half of Europe’s energy demand. With millions of homes still dependent on fossil fuels, innovative solutions are essential to achieving the EU’s climate goals. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the demand for new heating solutions has increased significantly. In parallel, the exponentially increasing number of heat waves due to global warming requires innovative solutions at the local level.
As Europe accelerates the transition to decarbonising heating and cooling, the challenge is not only to deploy innovative technologies, but to make these solutions accessible and viable for homeowners and businesses. One-stop shops (OSS) are becoming a game changer as they can provide viable solutions for decarbonisation at the local level across Europe. They can help homeowners find the most suitable clean heating and cooling solutions and access the related financing instruments. In this webinar, we will explore how to do this.
Learn from pioneering open websites and initiatives:
- The EU Peers initiative builds and strengthens the European Community of Practice for Open Websites by sharing best practices and fostering collaboration in solving problems to achieve climate action.
- The COHEAT project has established 4 local open websites that aim to demonstrate how to accelerate the green transition and energy renovation of residential homes and public institutions, with the goal of reducing CO₂ emissions by 70% by 2030 with heat pumps, local heating microgrids and district heating.
- Eza! has been promoting Germany’s energy transition for 25 years and is helping to increase the share of renewable electricity from 5% to 50%. With education reaching over 70 million readers, eza! empowers communities with viable solutions for energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable living.
Achieving real impact:
- Local energy planning ensures that solutions are community-focused, tailored to the owner’s needs, and aligned with existing climate action plans. So you not only mitigate local climate risks and create a livable environment, but also eliminate health complications related to emissions or extreme heat events.
