Klaipeda County Public Library Ieva Simonaitytė is implementing a new Erasmus+ international project “Photographic Kaleidoscope: Inclusion, Communities and Knowledge” (PhotoKICK) together with the National Museum of Lithuania, the Kuldiga Art and Technology Centre (Latvia), the cultural association “Espacio Rojo” (Spain), the Scientific Research Association for Art, Culture, Educational Programmes and Technologies “EPEKA” (Slovenia) and the Hungarian National Museum (Hungary).

On 16 November 2022, an online meeting was held with the “PhotoKICK” project partners from Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Slovenia and Spain, moderated by the project coordinator and library project manager Viktorija Žilinskaitė.

At the beginning of the event, the project coordinators introduced the new members of the project team. They discussed the timeline of the project and the future plans, activities and objectives of the project. At the end of the event, other issues related to the project were discussed and debated by all participants. We are currently working on the project’s 1st objective – the development of guidelines for the design of educational photography exhibitions.

The next closest meeting with Latvian partners will take place on 21-22 November 2022 in Kuldīga, Latvia. At this meeting we will discuss the progress of the “PhotoKick” project and ideas for future project cooperation. The project team will visit the Kuldiga Digital Innovation Hub (KDIH), the Kuldiga Needle Factory, the Kuldiga Main Library, the Kuldiga Art Gallery and the Kuldiga UNESCO Old Town.

A 2nd transnational meeting will be organised in Hungary in April 2023. The project partners will present the 1st project objective “Guidelines for the creation of educational photographic exhibitions”, discuss which project activities have been implemented in each organisation up to the 2nd meeting, develop the content of a joint photographic art exhibition, review the results achieved and discuss plans for future project activities.
