During the COVID-19 epidemic, the elderly represent a vulnerable group that is at risk of infection and, for unknown reasons, often more severely affected,

It is therefore crucial that older people and other vulnerable groups follow the advice of experts in the field of protective measures. But it is also up to everyone else to ensure that older members of the community are as safe as possible.

The COVID-19 epidemic has brought major changes to our daily lives and, at the same time, uncertainty that we have not faced for a long time. Some older members of the community have faced and overcome similar circumstances in the past, gaining important experience and knowledge that can serve as an example and role model for younger people. In times of epidemic, it is crucial to limit socialising with older people, to maintain a safe distance and to find new ways of keeping in touch. It is also crucial to follow all hygiene instructions to reduce the spread of the virus. The NIMH has prepared several recommendations and practical guidelines for preventive action:
