The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner in the Transition to Entrepreneurship project, which will take place in Romania.

The overall objective of the project is to promote the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in society. The specific objectives are also to raise awareness and promote positive attitudes towards social entrepreneurship among the 25 participants who will take part in the project. The project also focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills among young people with fewer opportunities coming from Romania, Spain, the UK and Slovenia. We also want to raise awareness among the participants about their active role in social inclusion.

The Transition to Entrepreneurship!

C.R.E.E.D (Centre for Economic Resources and Education for Development), in collaboration with four other international organisations from Spain, Slovenia and the United Kingdom, is implementing the international youth exchange Transition to Entrepreneurship! This international youth exchange is part of the Transition to Entrepreneurship! project, which is being implemented between 4 December 2017 and 3 December 2018 with the financial support of the European Commission through the Erasmus Plus programme, Key Action 1, managed by ANPCDEFP in Romania. The youth exchange will bring together 25 young people and 7 group leaders and facilitators for 10 days on the theme of social entrepreneurship. The main activities will take place in Neamt County, Romania, and the main objective of the project is to promote the inclusion of young people with few opportunities in society.

The specific objectives of this project are:
1. To raise awareness and promote positive attitudes towards social entrepreneurship among 25 young people with fewer opportunities over a period of 10 days.
2. To develop entrepreneurial skills among 25 young people with fewer opportunities from Romania, Spain, the UK and SL over a period of 10 days.
3. Raising awareness among 25 young people with fewer opportunities about their active role in social inclusion in 10 days.

During the youth exchange we will organise meetings with the following themes: What is social economy and entrepreneurship, Benefits of social entrepreneurship, Identification of social needs in the community, Ideas to address them using social entrepreneurship, Working on a business plan for a social enterprise, Best practice models of social entrepreneurship in the world, Erasmus for young entrepreneurs, Be empathetic! What can I do to help others?, Active Citizenship, Volunteering! Invest in yourself! The sessions will be based on non-formal education and the learning process of the participants will be simple, creative and fun.

The expected impact is a greater awareness and knowledge of the social economy and social entrepreneurship, a greater sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, the ability to implement a business plan for a social enterprise, a greater awareness of their active role in social inclusion, greater empathy, tolerance, understanding of others’ feelings and perspectives, the ability to respect and socialise with people from different backgrounds, better communication in English, etc. among the participants.
