Roma Station

The end of September 2021 marks the end of the four-year period of the project Multifunctional Roma Centre – Roma Station, in which we at the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., have carried out over 300 activities and workshops aimed at the Roma community since 2017. At the end of the project, we invite you to a relaxed gathering in front of the VNRC on Friday, 30 September at 6 pm.

The project organised a number of showcase events for the wider community and several meetings with decision and policy makers. The project was funded by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the European Social Fund. Together, we worked to find new solutions, educate, move around, get to know the city, talk to people working in different professions and strengthen the competences and skills needed to enter the labour market. The latter has been key to the work of the Roma Station. Throughout the period of operation, we have, on the one hand, strengthened the core competences of adult users and, on the other hand, established a robust framework of training and workshops for children and young people. These have been aimed at encouraging younger generations to stay engaged in formal education, thus making a significant contribution to their employment prospects and, at the same time, to the well-being of the community.

We are delighted that you have visited us regularly over the past years and have joined us in bringing the story of VNRC Roma Station to life. The end of the project and the end of the funding does not mean the end of the activities at the Roma Station. These will continue on a weekly basis and we will keep you informed. At the same time, we hope that the positive effects of the multi-purpose Roma centres will be more widely recognised and that their activities will continue to be co-financed in order to improve the situation of both the Roma community and society at large. You are cordially invited to join us. The social event will take place from 18.00. Participation is free of charge. The event will be held in accordance with the recommendations of the NIJH.
