The Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, will participate in the webinar – More than just renewables: the social impact of energy sharing.

This webinar will show how local authorities in Valencia (Spain) and Rožnov pod Radhoštěm (Czech Republic) are turning renewable energy projects into tools for social justice and the fight against energy poverty. Beyond technical innovation, both pilot projects show that the fight against energy poverty starts with trust: in institutions, local actors and among citizens.

They will explore concrete actions on collective energy consumption in the condominium and on the sharing of renewable energy produced in the cimeria. All this goes far beyond installing solar panels: it is a journey about building long-term relationships with vulnerable communities to create new governance models that take into account their needs and realities.

Moderated by Marine Cornelis, Next Energy Consumer

Speakers:

  • Arturo Zea, Valencia Climate and Energy Foundation
  • Jan Cieslar, Energy Manager, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm (with Tereza McLaughlin Váňová)

Get to know the speaker Arturo Zea by reading our latest interview with him, in which he explores Valencia’ s journey to realise the “right to (renewable) energy” for all.
