EPEKA, the Scientific and Research Association for Arts, Cultural and Educational Programmes and Technology, a social enterprise, has been selected in the public call for proposals of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport “Employment in the field of youth work in the youth sector”, co-funded by the Republic of Slovenia (URSM) and the European Union from the European Social Fund.

As part of the implementation of the operation “Employment in youth work in the youth sector – 1”, a youth worker has been recruited to work with young people, gaining experience during his 9-month placement.

During the implementation of the operation, which falls under period A, the youth worker participated in and received training in or performed the following key works or expected activities. Planning youth programmes in cooperation with young people. The youth worker, with the professional support of Epeka staff, worked with young people to develop youth programmes both locally (MOM) and internationally (Erasmus+ projects), to plan youth programmes in cooperation with young people, to implement youth programmes in cooperation with young people, to evaluate youth work programmes, to establish and maintain cooperative and trusting relationships with young people, to work with young people in groups, to enable young people to acquire competences, and to carry out activities to disseminate the results of the work of young people. The youth worker worked with more experienced staff and young people to implement youth programmes and projects and learnt how to do this independently. He also participated in the preparation of international youth mobilities and took part in them, gaining international experience. The youth worker also carried out activities in the youth centre and in workshops organised by the organisation.

The aim of the operation is to promote and ensure greater employability of young people from the target group of the call for proposals, so that the youth worker will acquire administrative, pedagogical and social competences, which will increase his/her employability at the end of the operation and contribute to reducing youth unemployment.
After the end of the operation, the youth worker has been employed by the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., for at least 1 month.

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Social Fund.
