ZORALIPE ROMANE ŽUVJENGRU – EMPOWERING ROMA WOMEN

The project is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the Roma Association of Slovenia. It is based on raising awareness and informing Roma women about the importance of education, integration into social life, gender equality, action against discrimination, and reducing prejudices about Roma culture.

Together with the relevant institutions, Roma organisations, experts and Roma women, we will try to find answers that will help Roma women to improve their own situation, which in turn will have an impact on the development of the Roma community. One of the aims of the project is to erase the inequalities in the situation of Roma women through the media and role models.

The event will discuss the role of Roma women in eliminating prejudices and improving cooperation in relations between the Roma and the majority population. We invite Romani women to participate in the discussion who, through their work and activism, contribute to a higher level of development of the Romani community and have their own views on the position of Romani women in society.

Various Roma organisations and groups will also present their views on the situation and views of Roma women. We will discuss legislation and directives, Roma women in European organisations, the position of Roma women in the European Union, the media and the work of Roma women in it, health, stress among Roma women and education for Roma women.
