7 December, 2018
Vienna, Austria
Štefan Simončič, President of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., will participate in the annual Eastern Partnership Conference “Stronger Economies for Stronger Societies – Investing in People for Sustainable Growth”. The conference will take place on 7 December in Vienna, Austria.
Following the successful Eastern Partnership meeting in Brussels last November, it is time to look back at the achievements within the 20 2020 deliverables that best demonstrate the tangible achievements we have made in 2018. Monitoring the 20 Outcomes for 2020 indicates that the focus was particularly on supporting SMEs, creating jobs and sustainable work opportunities in the partner countries and encouraging skills building in line with market demands. The EU also launched the Youth and Education Package in 2018, with the aim of creating the necessary conditions for young people to study, work and participate in society, and to fulfil their potential for the future of the region.
The event is organised by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of Europe together with the European Commission and the European External Action Service. The event will be opened by Dr Karin Kneissl, Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and International Relations, and Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations. A debate will follow, aiming at identifying the main challenges and opportunities, exchanging examples of good practice and making recommendations for concrete action.
