25 – 29 November, 2019
Ljubljana

Representatives of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., participated in two roundtable discussions at the 10th Slovenian Development Days on 25 November 2019.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning are organising the 10th Slovenian Development Days in Ljubljana from 25 to 29 November 2019 – a central forum for Slovenian and foreign experts, representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions, international organisations and academia to discuss current issues and cooperation in the field of international development cooperation and humanitarian aid.

The event focuses on climate change and related challenges: how addressing climate change in the context of international development cooperation can contribute to the capacity of less developed countries to achieve climate policy and adaptation goals, with the aim of reducing inequalities at the global level.

The main event took place on 25 November 2019 at the premises of Post Slovenije in Ljubljana. The first roundtable answered questions on how the fight against climate change is integrated into Slovenia’s international development cooperation, to what extent young people feel involved in co-determining policies and practices that affect climate change, and whether development cooperation sufficiently supports young people. The second roundtable will seek answers to the questions of where we are in the transition to a circular economy in Slovenia, Europe and the world, how circular economy approaches can address the environmental, social and economic challenges facing developing countries, and who is involved in the transition to a circular economy and what their key roles are.
