The main vision of the organisation is to protect the interests of our membership, with particular sensitivity to the treatment of asbestos patients. We strive to provide the healthiest and safest working environment possible. It is clear from the name that the core mission of SABS is linked to the issue of asbestos, with an emphasis on the negative consequences it has on human health. They were the initiators and co-authors of the Law on the Elimination of the Consequences of Work with Asbestos (ZOPDA-B), adopted in 2009. This is a comparable European law which legalises asbestos diseases of workers exposed to asbestos at work as occupational diseases.
