Maribor

The idea for the establishment of the Institute Zadihaj, Institute for Sustainable Mobility and Friendly Energy, Maribor was conceived in 2013 and registered in the court register as a private institution the same year. In September 2015 it was restructured into a social enterprise.

It was set up to research and promote sustainable mobility solutions, with the aim of enabling people to live a quality and active life, with a focus on healthy lifestyles. For us, health is the basis for the intellectual, physical and emotional development of human beings, which is a prerequisite for work activity and thus economic security. People consider health to be their greatest value and to preserve it, we develop effective and useful solutions in the field of sustainable mobility. Our solutions and efforts ensure that everyone’s need to move is met, but at lower cost, with fewer side effects on the environment, less risk to health and using natural energy resources.

Breathe has experience in raising awareness among the general public about the negative effects of transport on health and the environment and about possible solutions. To this end, it organises lectures for different target groups, thematic events with a media presence and is active in the humanitarian field. The most high-profile events are BreatheMoM, an event with protective masks to highlight the harmful impact of dust particles, the organisation of an exhibition, trips in environmentally friendly vehicles to eco-farms, trips for children from socio-economically vulnerable groups. He has experience in drafting proposals to change sectoral legislation and working with individual decision-makers in the Republic of Slovenia. He develops technical and ICT solutions that contribute to reducing transport costs, health and environmental impacts, energy self-sufficiency and better general conditions for all citizens, especially vulnerable groups. He has developed the concept of the ePeakCharge system and the ePeakDock charging solution, which significantly improve existing charging stations. The application, together with some hardware, solves problems that users face on a daily basis. By integrating innovative solutions into charging stations that simplify charging, the use of electric vehicles would increase and consequently improve air quality. With Slovenian partners, the company is developing equipment for the electrification of existing bikes, the EBATEXSystem, and a European electric car project, eMBy, which meets the needs of the vast majority of people. The project’s product has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence.
